And so begins this...um... journey?
Yay! I'm a blogger! I'll admit, I was openly critical about this whole blogspot thing when my boss (Dr. Chris Drew) told me about it. I mean, what more could a person need than a MySpace or Facebook profile for their online representation/networking needs? Dr. Drew explained that a blog was a bit more family appropriate and a great way to keep your family and social circle connected. Well, curiousity got the best of me and before I knew it, I began cyber-stalking The Drew Crew, Aaron&Melissa Kleiner, and even their various friends and relatives! I became addicted to peering into the way people live their lives, direct their choices, decorate their spaces, and interact with their loved ones. MySpace, Facebook, Twitter...they're all great for presenting an amped-up, polished facade to the online world, but those profiles tend to be trite. There is a depth and honesty to these blogs that reeled me in. I'm going at this alone because literally NOT ONE SOUL in my social circle or family is doing this and I really don't know anyone in the "blogesphere" other than those I mentioned previously. I'm not LDS, I'm not married, and I'm not a mom or aspiring mom, so maybe I don't have a whole lot in common with those I've been following. I do, however, have a good heart and I'm drawn to the beauty in this life. My fascination with travel, fashion, and food will be evident in my blogs, but my satisfaction in the small pleasures will also be notable. Meeting my bestie Buffy at Coffee Rush, watching Marc grill steaks with rapt concentration, hearing my parents talk about their early days of marriage, reading about the 1920s while lounging in the window seat of the Prescott Public Library, monsoons in Sedona...these are some of the small things I cherish. I'd be delighted and honored if you came along for the ride.
